Program Description

Event Details

In the spirit of the spooky season, join us for a woodworking class on how to make bat houses. All supplies will be provided for each registered participant to complete one bat house to take home.

Note: We will be outdoors in the library's parking lot so please dress accordingly. All participants will need to wear close-toed shoes during the class and complete a MFPL Makerspace Liability Waiver prior to the start of the class. Safety is our priority as we learn how to operate and use woodworking equipment.

Why would you want a bat house? According to Bat Conservation International, "Bats are an important part of a functioning ecosystem. Making a bat-friendly place in your backyard supports the ecologically essential role bats have in the environment, including pest-control, pollination and seed dispersal."
