This is a continuation of our beginner ukulele series. We will be building on previous lessons as we go along, so please plan to attend as many classes in this series as you are able.

This course requires some prior experience with the basics of playing a ukulele. Minimum requirements that all attendees should have before joining this class:

  • Knowledge of re-entrant tuning, string names, numbers and how to fret
  • Basic strums - thumb, up and down, calypso or other syncopated strums
  • Proper finger positions for the following chords: C, C7, A, Am, A7, F, Fm, G, G7, Gm, D, D7, Dm, Em, E7
  • Comfortable with chord progressions
  • Ability to read chord charts and tablature

Please register each participant individually. Class registrants may check out a library ukulele on their library card in order to practice between classes. Please note on your registration if you will be bringing your own ukulele or borrowing one of the library's instruments.
