Interested in learning the Spanish language or brushing up on your language skills? Join us in the Level 1 Spanish Group.
In this course for beginners, students will use their Mammen Family Public Library card to access class materials on the Transparent Language platform. Students will do the assigned homework on their own time, and then also meet weekly at the library with fellow students for classes and conversation circles to reinforce what they have learned.
In addition to the online course content on the Transparent Language platform, we will also be following the textbook Complete Spanish Step-by-Step (Second Edition) by Barbara Bregstein. The library has a copy of the book that can be referenced in the library, but cannot be checked out. We recommend purchasing a copy of the book if you would like a copy to follow along at home.
October Schedule:
Two times each month, the Level 1 Spanish Group will have a 1-hour instructor-led class from 10:00am-11:00am. On the remaining Tuesdays each month, students are welcome to gather for a one-hour Conversation Circle program to practice what they've learned with other members of the community. The Conversation Circle meetings are not instructor-led.

- Tuesday, October 17th, 10:00am-11:00am: Conversation Circle (not instructor-led)
- Tuesday, October 24th, 10:00am-11:00am: Instructor-Led Class
- Tuesday, October 31st, 10:00am-11:00am: Conversation Circle (not instructor-led)
By registering for the Level 1 Spanish Group, you will receive a reminder the day before each scheduled meeting through the end of the year. Before the first class day, you will receive an email with the class syllabus and class enrollment link so that you can access the class materials on the Transparent Language platform. You will need to create a free Transparent Language account using your Mammen Family Public Library card if you have not already done so.
