Event Details
This is the first part of a two part series.
Join us as we sew a simple quilted placemat. This class is perfect for those who are just beginning their sewing adventure, or for those wanting to brush up on their sewing skills. Patrons will cut squares from fabric, sew rows of squares together, press seams, and learn the techniques to put their placemat together. Patrons will sharpen their skills with the sewing machine by watching live demonstrations of each step, which includes the use of a serger. Patrons will have access to pins, fabric, interfacing, machines, and irons. Patrons are welcome to bring in their own cotton/canvas fabric, or use what we have supplied at the library.
Attendees must be a Mammen Family Public Library card holder in order to use makerspace equipment. TexShare and Student Passport cards do not qualify for use of makerspace equipment. Please include your library card number on the registration form below so that we can confirm your registration.
