Program Description

Event Details

Have you ever wanted to write your own book? Now's your chance! During this five-week workshop, students will be creating storybooks using small hardcover books with blank pages that you will write and illustrate yourself! You'll come up with a storyline, cover, illustrations, a dedication page, an author blurb, and a title page. By the end of the series you will have an original finished book. Note to grown-ups: This project promotes sentence structure, vocabulary, spelling, imagination, artistry, creativity AND is a lot of fun.

The workshop will meet for five weeks. Please make sure you have an idea for your book before you come to the first session!

About Suzie: I am a retired teacher who taught 4th grade for 25 years. I feel that having children express themselves creatively through writing and art is a great way to exercise their imagination, use their talents and show the world who they are.

This program is a good fit for children who have completed 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade! Please register each child individually and plan to attend all five weeks. If the class is full, please add yourself to the waitlist as we may be able to add another session!
