Event Details
Join us in our newest art series, Artistic Encounters! In this monthly program, instructor Jennifer will guide us through some art history and then lead us in creating our own works of art. Some months we will take a look at a specific artist, or sometimes an entire art movement, always considering the medium the artists worked in, looking at samples of their work, and finally trying our hand at a project inspired by the artist or art movement.
Join us in October as we explore the upcoming Mexican holiday, Dia de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. We will explore the traditions and the symbols of the holiday, and sprinkle in a little art history with Frida Kahlo too. Summon your design skills to create your own calavera, or skull drawing to enjoy for the upcoming tradition.
