Program Description

Event Details

Join us in our newest art series, Artistic Encounters! In this monthly program, instructor Jennifer will guide us through some art history and then lead us in creating our own works of art. Some months we will take a look at a specific artist, or sometimes an entire art movement, always considering the medium the artists worked in, looking at samples of their work, and finally trying our hand at a project inspired by the artist or art movement.

During our September class, we will be studying the work of artist Berthe Morisot, one of the founding members of the new French art movement of the late 1800’s, and yet one of the most overlooked. We will then create a still life with acrylic paint and practice a more loose, gestural brushstroke. All supplies will be provided.
