Program Description

Interested in learning the French language or brushing up on your language skills? Join us in the French Group, which meets weekly.

Beginning in September 2023, the French Group will meet to have a 2-hour instructor-led class from 10:00am-12:00pm on the first Wednesday of each month. On the remaining Wednesdays each month, students are welcome to gather for a one-hour Conversation Circle program from 10:00am-11:00am to practice speaking French with other members of the community. The Conversation Circle meetings are not instructor-led. All levels of French language learners are welcome in this French Group program.

We will be following the book French Conversation (Third Edition) in the "Practice Makes Perfect" series throughout the program. The library has a copy of the book that can be referenced in the library, but cannot be checked out. We recommend purchasing a copy of the book if you would like a copy to follow along at home.

November Meetings:

  • Wednesday, November 1st, 10:00am-12:00pm: Instructor-Led Class
  • Wednesday, November 8th, 10:00am-11:00am: Conversation Circle (not instructor-led)
  • Wednesday, November 15th, 10:00am-11:00am: Conversation Circle (not instructor-led)
  • Wednesday, November 22nd, 10:00am-11:00am: There will be no meeting this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
  • Wednesday, November 29th, 10:00am-11:00am: Conversation Circle (not instructor-led)

By registering for the French Group, you will receive a reminder the day before each scheduled meeting through the end of the year. If you are on the waitlist, you are more than welcome to try and get a seat at the start of the class.
