Program Description

Event Details

Interested in learning the French language or brushing up on your language skills? Join us in the Beginner French Group. All levels of French language learners are welcome to join us for these instructor-led classes; however, this group is the best place to start for students at the beginner level.

The Beginner French Group generally meets weekly each Wednesday during the fall semester for a 1-hour instructor-led class from 10:00am-11:00am. The fall classes will begin on Wednesday, September 4th.

We will be following the book Easy French: Step-by-Step throughout the course. The library has a copy of the book that can be referenced in the library, but cannot be checked out. We recommend purchasing a copy of the book if you would like to be able to study at home. In addition to the textbook, the instructor will be providing additional learning materials.

By registering for the French Group, you will receive a reminder the day before each scheduled meeting through the end of the year. If you are on the waitlist, you are more than welcome to try and get a seat at the start of the class.

Interested in practicing French conversation, reading, and writing skills? You can stick around for the Conversation & Reading French Group which also meets weekly on Wednesdays. The Conversation & Reading group focuses on building conversational, reading, and writing skills. All levels are welcome in that group as well, although students may be the most comfortable if they have some prior exposure to the French language. You can find more information about the Conversation & Reading French Group by clicking here. Students are welcome to attend either or both groups.
