Program Type:
Makerspace & DIYProgram Description
Event Details
- Do you normally lug all your pieces from home down to the nearest ceramics shop to get them fired, and then have to pick them up and lug them all the way back? Well, someone generously donated a kiln to the library, and while not “open for business” we do want to help where we can. So, you can register for a spot in our next bisque firing. Pieces must follow the requirements below and will be loaded by our resident ceramicist.
> Pieces must be Bone Dry (no moisture left in them)
> Only “naked” clay (no glazes or underglaze finishes)
> Can’t be larger than 10” in any dimension
> You must be willing to allow other pieces to be directly next to yours or even placed on top of yours (when appropriate)
> Limited to two submissions a household
- If there is an overwhelming turnout, the library reserves the right to choose both the total number and the items themselves; in accordance with what will “best fit” within the limited space of the kiln.
If you plan to attend, please register below so that we can plan accordingly.
The following ages are allowed in this program:
- Adults over 18
- Youth 16 - 18 who have a signed parental permission form on file to work independently
- Youth over 12 with a parent in attendance at all times
Attendees must be a Mammen Family Public Library card holder in order to use makerspace equipment. TexShare and Student Passport cards do not qualify for use of makerspace equipment. Please include your library card number on the registration form below so that we can confirm your registration.
