  • This event is for registrants age 5 to 18.

Program Description

Event Details

Join us for a FREE Chess Tournament by SMTX Chess Club! This will be a US Chess Federation rated tournament, meaning all participants must be registered USCF members. Purchase youth memberships for $24/year at the USCF website. Limited scholarships may be available if needed, please contact ben@mfplibrary.com for more information.

Please register each participant and include their USCF membership number in the appropriate field. 

Tournament Details:

  • Swiss tournament
  • Depending on the number of registrants, players will either all play together or be split into Beginner and Advanced groups based on USCF rating.
  • Sign-in begins at 10:30 AM. On-site registration is available for any remaining seats!
  • Tournament runs from 11 AM to 3 PM with a lunch break at 12:30.
  • Official USCF rules apply: Touch moves, one hand allowed to touch pieces and clock.
  • 15+0 time control
