The following ages are allowed in this program:
- Adults (18 and older): Eligible to attend independently.
- Youth (16–17 years old): May attend with signed parental consent.
- Youth (10–15 years old):
- Must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
- The parent/adult must actively participate and work alongside the youth during the program.
- Each parent/adult may supervise only one youth.
Please note: Additional siblings or children who are not registered participants may not attend, even as observers. This policy ensures a safe and focused environment for all attendees and instructors.
Ceramics for Your Home: Trivets
Want to make stuff with clay but don’t know where to start? Well this program is designed to help you “get dirty” and be productive while you do! Each participant will get the chance to make two hand-made trivets (coasters), while learning a few basic ceramic techniques.
After the class, the attendees' work will be given time to dry properly and then fired the following week in the library’s kiln. Attendees will be notified by email after their pieces have been fired so that they can return to the library to pick up their masterpieces (likely 10-14 days after the class date)!
Attendees must be a Mammen Family Public Library card holder in order to use makerspace equipment. TexShare and Student Passport cards do not qualify for use of makerspace equipment. Please include your library card number on the registration form below so that we can confirm your registration.
