Ceramics for Your Garden: Olla & Worm
Remember playing with mud as a kid, remember how fun it was? Want to make something with a practical use instead of a craft that just sits there gathering dust? In this basic ceramics class, you will learn about several traditional ways to form a vessel out of clay and how you can put your creations to work in your garden.

We will be making small pots (or ollas) that can help your plants manage the hot Texas sun and moisture sticks (or worms) that can help you know when your plants need more water. All techniques learned in this class can be applied to your own larger projects at home (or in making an army of worms!).

After the class, your pieces will need to go through a drying process, and then through the bisque firing process before you can pick them up. Pieces will be available for pick-up the following week. You will be notified by email when the items are ready for pick up.

This program is being offered on Wednesday, June 5th, 1:00pm - 2:30pm and will be offered a second time on Wednesday, June 12th, 10:30am - 12:00pm. This registration page is for the class session on Wednesday, June 5th. In order to help us make this program available to as many patrons as possible, please register to attend only one of the class dates.

Attendees must be a Mammen Family Public Library card holder in order to use makerspace equipment. TexShare and Student Passport cards do not qualify for use of makerspace equipment. Please include your library card number on the registration form below so that we can confirm your registration.
