Join us for a conversation with artist Claire Rhodes Stevenson, whose work will be featured in the library's hallway exhibit from March 15th through April 15th. 

Artist Biography   
Claire Rhodes Stevenson is a contemporary painter, printmaker, paper maker, and educator living and working in Bulverde, Texas.

She studied at the Corcoran School of Art with Thomas Downing in conjunction with completing a Bachelor of Arts in Painting and Drawing from George Washington University in Washington, DC. She is a graduate of the museum education masters program of The College of William and Mary in Virginia.

She has exhibited her work, taught art in public and private schools, been curator of education at a large art museum, and lived in 7 states and 3 foreign countries. 

Claire taught at the Southwest School of Art in San Antonio teaching in the papermaking studio as an adjunct faculty member for 10 years. She continued to teach in the Young Artists Programs at SSA until 2014. Since then, she has taught and worked from her 1400 square foot Cameron Armstrong designed studio in Bulverde, Texas.

Her work varies from pure abstract to more traditional interpretations of the landscape depending on the medium or focus.

Her work in painting, printmaking, and papermaking media has been exhibited locally and nationally.

Claire is represented by Mockingbird Handprints Gallery in San Antonio, TX.
