Event Details
Join us for a two-part introduction on 3D printing. In this program, you will learn the basics of using a 3D printer, how to design a project compatible with a 3D printer, and how to make that design come to life. We will be practicing by designing and creating a cookie cutter, which you will get to take home at the end of the program just in time to bake some holiday cookies!
The first part of this program will be a class on Wednesday, December 7th from 5:00pm-7:00pm, when we will introduce you to the 3D printer and work on your cookie cutter design. For the second part of the program, you will schedule an individual appointment with one of the library's makerspace specialists to come in and use the 3D printer to create the cookie cutter that you designed! At the end of the appointment, you will get to take home your cookie cutter that you designed and made.
After completion of this two-part program, you will be certified to use the library's 3D printer, available by appointment.
While you do not need to have previous experience with any specific computer software for this class, you will need to be comfortable using a laptop computer and have a general understanding of basic computer software.
